Meiling is Syaoran Li's cousin and fiancée. Unlike her cousin, she possesses no magical powers but she does excell in martial arts. She has a great deal of confidence in herself and is rather possessive of Syaoran. Her engagement to Syaoran was actually made by her. When they were younger, Meiling declared that if Syaoran couldn't find someone he cared for more than her, then she would marry him. Syaoran agreed, though rather reluctantly. Although Meiling created a one-sided competition with Sakura Kinomoto, she gradually grew to like her. Meiling matures a great deal and is really a kind person at heart. She courageously sacrificed her love for Syaoran when he told her he found someone else and she continues to support for him and his love for Sakura. Throughout all this, Meiling has become very good friends with Tomoyo Daidouji.
