DIGIMON
CHANGES TO DIGIMON ADVENTURE 02
This is where you can find out which season two Digimon episodes were changed when brought to North America. I haven't seen every episode in Japanese so the list isn't complete. If you have something to contribute, please let me know!
Opening Theme
The Japanese opening theme is the song "Target" sung by Wada Kouji. The English opening used the same theme used in the first season. They re-edited the opening, and in the process, cut out a lot of the scenes of the original.
Ending Theme
The dub ending is merely the opening played over again. The original Jpaanese opening featured 2-D images of the digidestined spinning around while the song "Ashitawa Ashitano Kazega Fuku" by AiM played.
General Changes
The general changes were the same as those of the first season. There are more jokes added to the dialogue of every single episode, "evolve" is turned to "digivolve", and Japanese text was digitally edited to be English.
Episode 10: The Captive Digimon
When Matt punches Tai in the face, a second or so was cut out to make the punch look less severe.
Episode 21: The Crest of Kindness
When Wormmon warned Ken about Kimeramon, a short scene of Ken hitting Wormmon with a whip was cut out.
Episode 22: Davis Cries Wolfman
A scene with Tortomon peeing was cut.
Episode 30: Ultimate Anti-Hero
In the episode, when Mummymon catches Arukenimon, Arukenimon punches him in the stomach.
Episode 41: The Digimon World Tour Part 2
This is more trivia than anything else, but when Dingo [Derek in the dub] introduced himself in the Japanese version, he does so in English.
Episode 43: Invasion Of The Daemon Corps
When Ladydevimon and Angewomon fight, they slap each other quite a few times. This part of the fight was cut.
Episode 44: Dark Sun, Dark Spore
During the Slyphimon and Ladydevimon fight, Slyphimon is knocked down. In the original, Ladydevimon steps on Slyphimon's head a few times, and then kicks Slyphimon over. This was cut.
Episode 47: Dark Sun, Dark Spore
After Neriko kicks the cat, it flies through the air. This was cut. [This edit was pointed out by Hika Yagami.]
