1. The Girl From the Mystic Moon
Description: In a pillar of light Hitomi and Prince Van are transported to Gaea, Van's homeworld. Van returns to his country Fanelia to be coronated king after slaying the dragon and obtaining the Energist crystal. But during the coronation ceremony, an invisible enemy invades Fanelia, and Van must retrieve Escaflowne, the legendary god of protection of Fanelia...
2. The Gallant Swordsman
Description: Hitomi and Van find themselves separated and lost in the neighboring country of Asturia, where a handsome night saves Hitomi from an attacker. And Van is challenged to a duel not once, but twice....
3. The Diabolical Adonis
In Asturia, Hitomi's warnings of a Zaibach strike are barely recognized. Merle is found and Van tends to her wounds. As Hitomi faints, Allen does the same to her. Allen believes Hitomi and prepares for an attack as the Zaibach forces wait to attack nearby. As Asturia burns, they escape and Van takes Escaflowne to battle the Zaibach alone. With Escaflowne in dragon mode, will he survive what the Zaibach have planned for him?
4. Seal of the Brothers
A rescue plan to save Van is created. Meanwhile on the Zaibach Floating Fortress, Van is confronted by Folken who reveals his true identity as Van's older missing brother. What will this do to Van? Can Allen's plan work?
5. City of Intrigue
After saving Van, Allen & crew head to the capital of Asturia, Palas. Asturia and the Zaibach are at peace and the king of Asturia has spoken with Folken about politics. Folken still wants Van to join him. In the meantime, Dilandau wishes to get revenge on Van for scaring his face. Could the protection of Escaflowne put Asturia and the Zaibach at war?
6. Unexpected Partings
The King of Asturia invites Van & Hitomi to the palace where Hitomi finds out that Millerna is in love with Allen even though she in engaged. In the meantime the ones that search for Escaflowne kidnap Hitomi. Van and Merle save her and manage to escape. What will happen next?
7. The Day The Angel Flew
Zaibach plans to invade the Duchy of Freid. In the meantime, Van, Hitomi, & Merle attack a Zaibach engergist mine. When Hitomi's life is put in danger, Van reveals a closely guarded secret...
8. The Blue Eyed Prince
Dilandau and his Dragonslayers follow Van and Escaflowne. Allen comes to help Van. Unfortunately, Allen blocks the liquid metal attack with his body to save Hitomi's life. No one can heal his wound and he bleeds helplessly. Millerna appears and operates on Allen. The group goes to Duchy of Freid, where Prince Chid greets them...
9. Prophecy of Death
The doppelganger (Zongi), kills the priest and takes his shape. He then casts suspicion on Van, Hitomi and Allen's group. He interrogates Hitomi. During this, he sees a vision of the past, and his death along with Hitomi. As soon as the vision ends, Hitomi collapses and her heart stops.
10. The Secret Door
Hitomi, Van, and the rest of the group prove their innocence to Prince Chid. The Duke of Freid returns and preparations start for the battle with Zaibach. In the meantime, while Millerna is in her sister's room, she finds her diary. Reading it, she discovers the truth about Marlene & Allen and discovers their secret...
11. Red Destiny
Zaibach advances and destroys the capital city of Freid. Zaibach moves towards the Fortuna Temple, where the power of Atlantis is sealed. Hitomi has a vision of the outcome of the battle between Freid and Zaibach and it's a bloody one.
12. Dangerous Wounds
Van and Escaflowne become one in the battle against Zaibach. Escaflowne becomes damaged, therefore Van is in a bad state and no one can heal his injuries. Allen's ship, the Crusade, meets up with a merchant ship where Dreyden summons the Ispano the repair Escaflowne. When Dilandau and his dragonslayers attack them, Van rushes to fight with fully realizing the situation...
13. Lost Paradise
Van is lost in the world of the dead and Hitomi goes after him to try to bring him back to the world of the living. When see finds Van, she sees a vision of the past of Atlantis and how it was destroyed. The most resent battle with Escaflowne has traumatized Dilandau, so Folken sends two Leopard women, Naria and Eriya, to capture the dragon for him...
14. Guided Ones
While reading Allen's father's dairy, Dreyden finds the way to Atlantis. Allen explains the bitterness he has towards his father. Hitomi learns that her grandmother, that gave her the pendant, had visited Gaea long ago and met Allen's father. The Zaibach floating fortress follows them until Hitomi opens the gate of the legendary Atlantis...
15. The Edge Of The World
Van's vision of his mother finishes revealing an Energist. This creates a light around Hitomi, Van and Escaflowne. Allen goes after Hitomi, and all three of them are transported to the heart of Zaibach, right in front of Emperor Dornkirk...
16. Operation Golden Rule Of Love
The Zaibach empire and Folken plan to change destiny by bringing Allen and Hitomi together, separating Van from Hitomi. There plan works causing mixed emotions and eventually chaos. The problem is that Millerna's wedding is a day away...
17. Reaction Of Fortune
Hitomi fails to stop the wedding and a Zaibach floating fortress blocks out the sun. Naria and Eriya demand Hitomi, and upon Hitomi realizing it's all her fault, she agrees to go with them. Van tries to save her and as he gets close to her, it messes up the Intensified Luck Soldiers. As they retreat, Naria's guymelef malfunctions and she falls back, but is determined to capture Hitomi...
18. Black Winged Angel
Folken calls for Van to come to Fanelia. Van runs off, and on the way, he runs into Hitomi. When they arrive, Folken greets them, but land dragons attack them. Van believes this is a trap but Hitomi feels differently...
19. Storm Premonition
Folken continues to help the allies against Zaibach and Dilandau is ready to face Van again. In the meantime, Hitomi realizes that war is in Van's heart and makes an important decision...
20. Faithful Decision
After choosing to leave Gaea, Hitomi finds herself back on Earth the day before she was transported to Gaea with Van. Living out the day again, she thinks about Van and Gaea... the world she left behind... Back on Gaea, a war has started and Van can't stop thinking about Hitomi until Merle tells him why...
21. Zone of Absolute Fortune
Van sends Hitomi back to Palas while he stays to fight. Hitomi tries to convince Folken to send her to see Dornkirk so she can stop the fighting. Folken tells her that he should be the one to go, and after Hitomi protests that he'll die, Folken reveals the reason behind his black wings...
22. Eternal Love
Now that the Zone of Absolute Fortune has been activated, everyone begins to fight each other due to human instinct. Dilandau fights Van and just as Van is about to destroy Dilandau, Jajuka interferes. About to die, Jajuka tells Dilandau that he should go back to being Celena. With Jajuka out of the way, Van attempts to destroy Dilandau again. Allen steps in saying that he'll protect his sister and the two begin to battle. As Van is about to kill Allen, Hitomi stops him but realizes that Van isn't the one who doesn't understand, she is. Van backs away and goes off to save Hitomi. On the way, Escaflowne malfunctions and Van lets his wings sore. Upon rescuing Hitomi, one moment causes the end of the war, but can that one moment of eternal love between Hitomi and Van last forever?
