Merle is a 13 year old cat girl. She is an orphan who was taken in by the royal Fanelian family. Merle is from a small town in the kingdom of Fanelia. She grew up with Van, and they consider each other family.

Van gives a lot of attention to Hitomi, which makes Merle very jealous. She very is possessive and protective of Van and this causes her to annoy Hitomi a lot. However, Merle only wants what is best for Van. She is the one that convinces Van to follow his heart.
