THE WAR TO END ALL WARS

I lived on the streets, I beg and steal,
My life was joyful but now it's unreal.
I had everything but not anymore.
I am a child of war.

I used to have happiness and so much more,
I used to family but not anymore.
I wish my life was just like before,
I am a prisoner of war.

I fight for the nations, let the people be free,
But I hate to see, all the agony.
For many lives are no more.
I am a soldier at war.

Cities destroyed, valuable taken.
Families forgotten and all is forsaken.
Many lost everything and many more.
This is the product of war.

War is over, glad to alive.
I am thankful that I have survived.
But still feel sadness and a whole lot more.
I am a survivor of war.

What was my purpose of life?
To live the way that I am?
What has become of me?
Is this how i'm supposed to live?
Questions run in my mind that cannot be explained
Those days where I was so carefree...
a smile on my face...
that feeling of warmth...
seems to fade away from my mind.
I can't seem to remember the last time
when the world was bright to me...
It's too cold and dark to even see
a speck of light.
Oh why did fate had to be so cruel?
A task that was given to me.
The things I've done.
I never wanted it to be like this.
Yet it had to be done.
But why me?
I'm no hero...
Why me?
