2007/01/30---The joy of rebirth

The pic and quote of the week are up. The pic features an image of Kurai from the Angel Sanctuary manga. The words on the pic are from the The End of Evangelion. It's a weird mix, but strangely, it works. o___O; Anyway, I've made a matching wallpaper to go with the pic. The pic and quote of the week are up. The pic is of Sakura from Tsubasa. The quote on the pic is from T.S. Eliot. I think it came out nicely. 2007/01/17---You've Been Death Noted

Just in case you haven't heard yet, Viz licensed the Death Note anime. They have both the DVD and "Download to Own" rights. The "Download to Own" format will allow fans to legally download subbed episodes. This is will be an interesting move to watch -- especially to see its effect on fansubbing, piracy and the industry in general. Notably, this will be the first time an anime (that isn't freakishly long) has been made legally available in the United States while it is still airing in Japan. ANN reports that Viz will be releasing Death Note on DVD. According to the report, the "Download to Own" episodes will be subbed and the DVDs will contain the dubbed version. Personally, I'm hoping the DVDs have both the sub and the dub. Randomly, here's a random article on the new Naruto series. The new pic and quote of the week are up. The pic of the week was made from a Trigun screencap. I love this image of Vash. I used it once before for something else, but I doubt anyone remembers. In any event, it's been ages since I did a Trigun pic. The quote of the week is from volume 13 of the Get Backers manga. Ginji is awesome. XD "A swordsman must maintain his proper stance. 2007/01/09---Can you keep a secret?

The pic and quote of the week are up. The pic features a manga image of Sakura from Card Captor Sakura. It's an artbook image that I don't see very often. I know the words on the pic should have a question mark at the end, but it's missing because the font I used lacked one, and everything else I tried looked pretty bad. I hope you like the pic regardless. ^^; The quote of the week comes from episode 62 of the Naruto dub. Naruto says it to Neji during the third part of the Chunin Exam. It's one of my favorite battles in the series, and I love Naruto's message through all of it. Neji thinks fate exists and controls his destiny. Naruto doesn't disagree, per se, but he thinks fate can be changed. "Stop telling me you can't change who you are. 2007/01/04---DBZ DVD boxsets; YTV note

FUNimation has posted a trailer discussing the technical elements of the upcoming DragonBall Z DVD boxsets. You can watch it here [mov file; right-click to save]. (Man, do I ever regret buying DBZ on VHS. ><;;) Just a heads up: Because of YTV's Thumb Wrestling Federation programming tomorrow, the time of Bionix's anime will be pushed back. Their website says that, for example, Naruto will only be pushed back by ten minutes, but I've heard that it could be as much as a half hour. 2007/01/02---Reaching checkmate

The new pic and quote of the week are up. Both the pic and quote revolve around L from Death Note. The pic is of L from the cover of volume 7 of the manga. It's a pretty classic L pic. The words on the pic are supposed to reflect the psychological aspect of the plot of the series, and reflect L's characters. The quote of the week comes from the Death Note manga. L says it to his little squad of investigators when L himself is being called out. L is willing to risk his life to catch "Kira", but he doesn't want to blinding risk it in an unproductive way, which would be counterproductive. A part of what makes L so great is that he understands that sometimes the most powerful action is a simple action or simply no action at all.
