I'm back from Anime North~! The good: I took a ton of photos, met all sorts of interesting people and generally had a blast. The bad: my memory card reformatted on Friday night, so the ~175 photos I took on Friday before 8:30pm were lost. ;______; The ~750 I took throughout the rest of the weekend are fine though. I'm working on them now so I can get them up ASAP. ;3
In YTV news, June is a big month for anime:
MÄR premieres this Friday at 7pm! YTV has a webpage for the show here.
As of this Friday, Bionix has a new schedule, as well as a new block of programming on Saturday night. Saturday night's anime programming is as follows:
10:00pm -- Naruto
10:30pm -- Inuyasha
11:00pm -- Gundam Seed
The Gundam Seed Destiny episode airing this Friday at 9:30pm will be brand new.
On Saturday, June 16 at 4pm, YTV will air Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Movie.
On Friday, June 22nd YTV will air the fourth Inuyasha movie, "Fire on the Mystic Island", at 9pm.
Saturday, June 30th is "Transformers Day". From noon to 6pm YTV will be airing Transformers-related programming, including the '80s animated feature at 4pm.
In site news, coming up this week or so will be information on this year's splash image contest and information on the annual Toronto Cosplay Picnic, so stay tuned for that.
Also, I almost forgot but it's May 29th, which means it's LELOLA's birthday. Since I started LELOLA in 1997, it's not just any birthday -- today is LELOLA's 10th birthday!
Anime North is here~! I'll be attending all three days and I will be tracking down cosplayers for photos. If you're looking for me, on Saturday, I'll be dressed as Syaoran from Tsubasa, on Sunday I will be dressed as Maora from the manga Shinshi Doumei Cross (The Gentlemen's Allaince), and today I'll be cosplaying either Syaoran or Maora. If you happen to spot me, please feel free to poke me and say hello. I promise I don't bite. ;3
In the news, it has been confirmed that a live-action Hana Kimi (Hanazakari no Kimitachi e) series is in the works. The series will star Maki Horikita as Mizuki, Oguri Shun as Sano, and Toma Ikuta as Nakatsu. Translation: three of my favorite actors are staring in a series based on a manga I like. ...yes!
Also, a correction to my previous post about the Naruto movie: The release date I mentioned is for the United States. The Canadian release date is June 23rd. Thanks to everyone who pointed this out!
See you at AN~!

2007/05/17---On AN, jaywalking, Digimon, Naruto, and lots of other things that are shiny and awesome
Anime North is right around the corner. I have put up a page for it, featuring my annual countdown. AN is just over a week away~! Who else isn't finished their costume?
On a related note, I finally uploaded my footage of con-goers jaywalking at Anime North last year. You can watch it here, if you're interested. This is you're friendly reminder to not jaywalk this year. ;3
Digimon fans: I know there are some fans of Derek Stephen Prince out there. As you probably are already aware, he will be a guest at Anime North this year. What you may not know is that he has a radio show. Tomorrow, he plans to host his show as Veemon! For more details, check out this post and his website.
The (first) Naruto is coming to theatres in the United States and Canada on June 6th. This is apparently a "one night only" deal, so if you want to see the movie on the big screen, June 6th is a day to mark on your calendars. Details and a list of participating theatres can be found here. ;3
Also in Naruto news, next week on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 5:30pm, three episodes of Naruto will air during the Zone on YTV. They will air the first episode and two of your "favorites". This is the first time Naruto will be shown on the Zone.
This is old news, but I forgot to report it before: Remember how 4Kids dropped One Piece? Well, FUNimation acquired it about a month ago, and they plan to release an unedited version. They're starting with the third season, however. The season will begin airing on Cartoon Network in August, and a DVD release is planned for early next year.
In the YouTube-is-awesome department, my friend Kevin found the first Pokemon commercial. It's totally worth it to see Ash's "Aunt Hillary". XD Check it out!
Oh, and since I finally have a YouTube account, I was able to upload a "LELOLA promo" that was sent to me in the summer of 2004 by Colyn "Flurry" DeGraaff. I was (and still am) floored that someone was willing to make something like this for my website, and I've wanted to share it since. It took me almost three years, but I can finally share it with you. :3
Thank you, Colyn! ♥
Finally, the pic and quote of the week are up. The pic of the week is of Utena from Utena. The quote on the pic is from, believe it or not, Dr. Seuss. Those of you familiar with the story of Utena can easily figure out why this particular quote is on a picture of Utena. ;3
The quote of the week comes from Escaflowne.
"I don't believe in predetermined fate."

2007/05/03---You can hear the passion in TK's voice
Yo. Long time, no update...
Remember how Viz wanted to release the Death Note anime via download before the series ended in Japan? Well, it's finally happening. Viz sent out a press release today with details that you can read here.
It's been confirmed that Digimon Savers will be airing on Toon Disney this fall under the title "Digimon Data Squad".
Speaking of Digimon, there are people who complain the English dub was bad. I happen to disagree with this segment of the population, but anyway, next time someone complains to you that the English dub was bad, please point them in the direction of the Finnish dub. ...I. Just. ...there are no words. XD
In convention-related news, Tomokazu Seki is going to be at Otakon this summer. *___________* To say that I want to go would be an understatement.
Remember Takehito Koyasu -– the legendary voice actor and the guy behind Weiss Kreuz? Well, he's at it again. He's making a new anime. It hasn't been announced whether it'll be an anime series, movie, etc., but we do know that it'll be called "Velvet Underworld", which is the same title of the Weiss Kreuz opening theme. Also, the main character is a grey-haired man suspiciously named Aya. He doesn't seem to be related to Weiss' Aya, though. According to ANS, he's given the name. Anyway, the series seems to take place in either the same world, or a very similar world to the Weiss one. You can read more about the plot here. Also, if you're interested in checking out the character designs in all their "why-Koyasu-what-were-you-thinking?" glory, you can view the official website here.
Also, the new pic and quote of the week (month?) are up. The pic features Haine from Shinshi Doumei Cross, and the quote on the pic is from George Eliot. The quote of the week comes from Kiba from Wolf's Rain. :3
"Dying or getting killed isn't something unnatural. Living aimlessly without a purpose is."
-Kiba, Wolf's Rain
