PAN-CHAN'S REVIEWS

NARUTO
DUB EPISODE 5 -- "You Fail! Kakashi's Final Decision"

The following is my review for the fifth English dubbed episode of Naruto.

  • Kakashi's voice still bugs me, but if I think of it as a unique take on his character, it's not that bad. It's just lacks the same feeling of the Japanese one, and his Japanese voice made his character so bloody awesome.

  • Sasuke's voice started to grow on me during this episode. He was doing a little more than angst, so alongside the content, the voice got more depth. This is very promising. ^^ (Although, he did pronounce "Sakura" oddly. o__O;)

  • It's interesting that I find some of the gags funnier in Japanese, and others funnier in English.

  • I never noticed the amount of foreshadowing for Kakashi in this episode before. Not that the anime has explained his past, but this episode hints at stuff we don't see again for another seventy episodes.

  • This episode marks the first time Naruto announces he wants to be a hero.

  • This episode also marks the first time we seem them work as a team, and the first time Sasuke and Sakura really interact.

  • "Believe it" count: only 4 this episode

  • Overall, a good episode.
