Older updates are at the bottom.

2004/11/30---Uncut Beyblade

According to the December Beyblade Newsletter, volume 5 of Beyblade G-Revolution on DVD will include an uncut Japanese version with English subtitles.

Awesome! Thank you, FUNimation! ^^

2004/11/28---Let me be your prince

The new pic and quote of the week is up. The pic is of Van from Escaflowne. The image comes from the cover of the second Escaflowne VHS tape. I was too lazy to scan mine, so I got the image from Digital Angels' Anime Shrine (great site, BTW!). I blame some sort of weird FoxKids-era nostalgia for this pic.

The quote of the week is one of my all time favorite Sailor Moon dub quotes. Serena says it in episode 30, "Crystal Clear Destiny", after she realizes Darien is bleeding. It's such an amusing quote. ^^

"I got a C+ in first aid! I can tell!"

2004/11/27---Digital Monsters X-Evolution

Before I go into incoherent Digimon ramblings thanks to Shusu, here's a re-cap of what I reported from ANN back in May:

Bandai has announced a new "Digital Monster" project for 2005. At the project's core will be "Digital Monster X-evolution", a new anime to be released in Japan next year.

"Digital Monster X-evolution" is a full length feature done entirely in CG. Hiroyuki Kakudou will direct, while Kazunori Ito and Miwa Kawasaki will write the script. Done entirely in CG, Digital Monster X-evolution will concentrate on the "digital" part of "Digimon".

Along with this new animation, there will be new games, cards, figures, etc. Nothing concrete has been revealed yet about these products, but a game based on "X-evolution" will likely be released sometime in 2005.

Digimon X-Evolution Well, the big news today is that the Japanese official website for X-Evolution is up and running! ^_____^

According to the website, Digimon X-Evolution is due out on January 3rd, 2005.

The website has a page of photos from the movie up. You can see them here. There are many familiar faces, like Omnimon, Gallentmon, and Andromon.

The website also a minute and thirteen second trailer for the movie up. It features nothing but Digimon, among them included Leomon, Wargreymon, and Mummymon. Check it out! (It is the fourth green link on the page right under "STAFF&CAST".)

It looks highly unlikely that any digidestined will be appearing in it. This appears to be an original movie that is not connected to the four anime series. It is about the Digital World and the digimon that inhabit it.

At this point in time, there are no plans to make an English adoption of this movie.

As always, I'll let you know if I hear anything. ^_~

Is anyone else jumping up and down right about now? *bounces*

"I haven't seen these toys since I was a sapling."

2004/11/26---DBZ Uncut

From AnimeNation:
According to comic industry news website ICv2, FUNimation will release the first two volumes in the "Dragon Ball Z Ultimate Uncut Special Edition" line in April and June, 2005. The new DVD series will present the first 63 episodes of the Dragon Ball Z television series uncut and bilingual for the first time in America. These first 63 episodes were originally edited down to 50 episodes for American TV broadcast and home video release. The Ultimate Uncut Special Edition DVDs will feature remastered video quality and 5.1 surround sound.

In May 2005, FUNimation will begin releasing remastered versions of the first 3 Dragon Ball Z theatrical movies, originally distributed in uncut American DVD editions by Pioneer.

Dragon Ball Z movie 10 will premier on American DVD on March 29, 2005. Movie 11 will debut in August 2005, followed, eventually, by movies 12 & 13.

The Japanese version on DVD? Can you say love? ^^

On an unrelated note: I've moved my message center to another server (it keeps the same URL though). ^^ This means that all those problems with it resetting shouldn't happen anymore. And to add to the good news, I've finally gotten around to replying to my backlog of messages. ^___^

2004/11/24---New DBZ game

From ANN: Atari has announced that Dragon Ball Z: Sagas will be released for the Xbox and other platforms sometime in 2005. This will be the first DBZ game available on for the Xbox. Team Xbox has posted an interview with one of the games producers with more information about the game as well as Funimation's involvement in the creative process.

If you're a DBZ fan, you may want to look into it. It looks really cool. ^^

*kicks server* There is goes... The new pic and quote of the week are up. The pic features Kamui from X. I thought it was pretty and had some fun playing around with it. ^^

The quote of the week comes from episode five of Cowboy Bebop and is probably my favorite Spike quote.

2004/11/20---Battle Angel

According to ComingSoon.net, it's been confirmed that James Cameron (director of Titanic and other big-name films) will be directing the live action adaptation of Battle Angel Alita.

We're in pre-production right now on a project called 'Battle Angel' which is something I've been working on for several years and we're just, we're finishing up the shooting draft right now. We've been designing, it's a big science fiction film and a couple things that will be interesting about this project," he says in the interview.

Cameron added that "the main character, even though it's a live action film, the main character will be done with CG animation and the second thing that's interesting is we're going to be shooting it in 3D using the stereo imagining system that we've been developing for the documentaries."

My only worry is that it'll turn out looking like the live action Devilman movie (read the CG makes most people break out laughing). ><; Ah well. This'll be interesting to keep tabs on, especially on the theme of mainstreaming anime.

"It's like a horror flick out here!"

2004/11/18---OSC Invasion

Last Saturday, a group of Toronto-area cosplayers invaded the Ontario Science Center. For those of you who have no idea what that it, the Science Center is a rather large complex filled with hands-on exhibits to teach young ones about the wonders of science. Why did cosplayers decide to invade the science center? Because a) it's a warm and indoor building; b) it seemed like a bad idea at the time; and c) why not?

About thirty cosplayers showed up throughout the day. The kids visiting the science center loved us, although their parents weren't as thrilled at the scary teenagers. ^^; The staff loved us and even went so far as to label us an honorary exhibit. *heh* It was great. Well, except for one staff member who said he didn't like anime. He was attacked by Naruto ninjas and had Disney tunes sung at him. Bwah~!

Another highlight had to be when we managed to get a majority of the cosplayers into a life-size model cave. You should have seen the looks on kid's faces when they entered the cave to find a collection of colorful characters looking at them. ^^

Long story short, it was a lot of fun. ^^ I had my camera along and took some photos, which I've uploaded for your viewing pleasure. Check it out! ^^

2004/11/14---Pattering Rain

The new pic and quote of the week are up. The pic features Sakura and Kero-chan from Card Captor Sakura. The pic and the words on it fell a lot like "Spring", which makes me feel all calm and happy inside. ^^

The quote of the week is from InuYasha. After a fight with a demon, InuYasha carries Kagome on his back. He tells her that he's sorry and that it was because of him that she was put in danger. The quote of the week was Kagome's reply. ^_~

"It's alright... I'm with you by choice."

2004/11/14---Explanations and stuff

Sorry about the technical difficulties LELOLA's been experiencing this week. I've had a lot of trouble updating and a bunch of files due to some not-so-happy errors. ><;

For those of you curious: Basically, I get an error telling me that I'm out of space. The result of this is that when I update, the file updated becomes blank. Updating during these times, for example, is why LELOLA's new page sometimes turns into a blank page of absolutely nothing. When I know this is going on, I avoid updating until I know I can so avoid this from happening.

This is also why my message center entries keep getting deleted. Don't worry too much about it this time though, because I do have a back up. It's not perfect, but it's pretty recent. ^^;I'll be fixing it shortly, so please give me a chance to fix the files and get everything in working order. I'm sorry I haven't had a chance to reply to my messages yet. I just got through mid-term season, so I haven't exactly had a ton of free time.

That being said, please bear with me while I try and get everything working smoothly again. And you may want to avoid my message center for the next five hours while I do some repair work. ^^;

I'm really sorry about all this!

2004/11/11---Wanna play?

Yu-Gi-Oh and Beyblade both have new Gameboy Advanced game coming out just in time for the holiday season. Technically, Yu-Gi-Oh: Destiny Board Traveler is already out. A review is up here, if you're interested. ^^; And here's a UK article on the release of Beyblade G-Revolution.

Also in the news, via ANN: Also in the 4Kids third quarter conference call, 4Kids CEO Al Kahn stated that they currently expect to release Yu-Gi-Oh! GX in 2005. They also gave an indication to the series length, mentioning 20 episodes. Yu-Gi-Oh! GX premiered in October on TV Tokyo.

This item is from ANN, which also reports that Chewbacca (Peter Mayhew) is going to play the voice of Susha (a villain) in FUNimation's upcoming release of the DragonBall GT movie. Somehow, this doesn't surprise me. ^^;

2004/11/08---Make a move

The pic and quote of the week are up. *kicks server for the delay* The pic is from Gundam Wing. The lyrics on the image are from the song "Wake Up (Make a Move)" by Lost Prophets. It was recently featured in a Gundam Wing fan soundtrack and it fit so perfectly I had to use it somehow. ^^

The quote of the week has a lot of meaning to anyone who has seen the Hyotei arc of Prince of Tennis. It's one of those quotes that makes you stand back and realize that there's so much more to this simple show about tennis.

"This match is meaningless to me, but I'm going to put everything I have behind every ball."

First off, via Avium I've gotten my hands on some more images from the upcoming Prince of Tennis movie. I've uploaded them here (yay, tacky suits!), here (Ryoga age 7 and Ryoma age 5), and here or your viewing pleasure. ^_~

If you read Viz's translated Yu-Gi-Oh! manga, you may want to check this out.

Sadly, I have some not-so-good news for your Beyblade fans. Due to schedule changes, it's very unlikely that YTV will be airing the finale of Beyblade this month like originally planned. It will now take much longer for YTV to reach the finale. ;___; Well, you might as well savor it. After this, there's no more Beyblade anime left.

2004/11/01---Hope from the stars

The new pic and quote of the week are up. I wanted to make a pic with a "warm" feel to it, and this is what I came up with. It features a manga image of Sakura and Syaoran from Card Captor Sakura that's pretty self-explanatory. I hope you like it. ^^

The quote of the week is one of the happy morals Tohru's mother told Tohru as a child. I think it's a very nice quote, and it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. ^^

"Kindness is something that everyone has to make with their own hands."
-Kyoko, Fruits Basket

In other news, I'll be announcing the winner of the spur of the moment election campaign I started last week. So, be sure to tune in tomorrow when I make up an inconsequential candidate to win the election and be crowned the Prince of Tennis... what are they running for again? *nervous laugh* Oh well. It's fun regardless! Bwah~!
