In my opinion, Malik is the creepiest character in the series (I luv him though). He is the owner of the Millennium Rod - one of the seven millennium items. He is also a member of the Ishtar family. On Malik's back is engraved an image that serves as the pharaoh's memory. When he was young, he went through a ceremony that placed in on his back. He had a hard childhood and from the darkness within his heart, Yami (Dark) Malik was born. His father was killed and Malik was told that this was the pharaoh's wish. Since this point in time, Malik has felt hatred towards Yami Yugi and wished to cause him as much pain as he possibly can. Malik wishes to gain control over all three god cards and then overthrow Yami Yugi and become the new pharaoh.

Malik is cold hearted for the most part. He owns the god card of Ra and uses its mighty powers. With the powers of the Millennium Rod, he takes control of other people's minds and bodies. He has very little caring for the people around him and will even sacrifice his henchmen if it helps him for his cause. But besides all this darkness, in comparison, Malik's Yami form is much much much worse.

Yami Malik was born long ago when Rishid was put in danger, but unlike his other half, Yami Malik cares about no one at all. He doesn't even care about Malik - as the real Malik is oblivious to the truth that Yami Malik is the one that killed his father.

Yami Malik merely wishes to obliterate the entire world and create one of his very own. And to achieve his goals, Yami Malik will do whatever it takes. He'll kill anyone who crosses his path - Yugi and his friends, and even those that the real Malik hold dear. His thirst for blood seems to have no end.

However, even though Malik isn't much better than his darker half, he fights against him. Perhaps, someday the innocent child deep inside will come to life again. And maybe - just maybe - Malik will find the piece of mind he searches for...
