POKÉMON

The story of Pokémon (known as Pocket Monsters in Japan) is a long and winding one. The anime follows a young boy named Ash and his journey to become a pokémon master. Ash is accompanied by his first and ever faithful electric pokémon, Pikachu, and a host of friends he meets along the way.
The Pokémon anime was made to sell the Pokémon gameboy games. Before the anime, sales of the game were less than stellar, but after the anime, sales went through the roof, catapulting Pokémon into a worldwide phenomenon.
The Pokémon anime premiered in Japan in 1997 and a dubbed version premiered in North America in 1998, and quickly went to number one. In 2002 (2003 in North America), Pokémon came to a close, but the series continued "Pokémon: Advanced Generation".
The Pokémon section here at LELOLA was created in 1998 when the series first premiered, and has been updated very rarely since. In 2005, the webmistress cleaned the section up a bit, but it is in no way, shape, or form accurate or complete. After all, it is oldest and the most-outdated section on LELOLA as the webmistress lost interest in the series when the new set of pokémon after the original 151 were introduced.
That being said, the official Pokémon website is an excellent source of Pokémon information and includes an up-to-date episode guide and pokédex, which this section lacks. If you're looking for Pokémon info, please check it out!
