_________Information

I fell in love with Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne after only watching a few episodes. After I finished the series, I was dying to make something from this series, so I figured why not make the original uniform? I was going to make the anime version, but I liked all the detail work in the manga version, and so I got to work on making the manga costume into reality.

I had gorgeous left over white fabric that Blue Rose gave me that I used for the main outfit. It's a strong white false suede so it's not see-through and wonderful to work with. The main white part was modeled after a martial arts uniform, but near the bottom, it's very different. In many ways, the top reminded me of Lime's from Saber marionette J. ^^ I made the sleeves long and white part as accurate I could get it.

The yellow belt is attached with velcro on the back. The red cording and the bow on the back were hand-sewn on. On the ends of the cording for the bow I attached two red tassels.

The purple bands extend from under the belt in the back, over my shoulders, and then down to about my knees. If you look at the reference images carefully, you'll notice that the cording on the purple bands are doubled. I was going to use cording for this, but it would've cost a lot and would've been murder to attach. Instead, I used pipe cleaners and was therefore able to double layer it and make it accurate to the actual outfit. ^^

The boots are a little messy since they're the first boot covers I ever made. Oh well. They worked. ^^

The accessories and jewelry were made of layers of cardboard carefully glued together. They came out really well. The earrings are clip on since I only have one ear pierced. ^^; The half-spheres on the arm bands were made of foam balls I cut in half and then spray-painted. The gloves were store bought since I can't seem to make tight fitting gloves. ><;

The wig was also a challenge. I bought the wig a month before I needed it and it looked very little like Jeanne's hair. They had it up in tacky ponytails to look a little like Sailor Moon. So, after I bought it, I had to take out the pigtails and re-style the wig completely to make it look like hers. Thankfully, the wig is really long, so even my hair was authentic. The only problem with the wig is that it takes a good half hour to put on properly.

This costume was made over the span of three panic-stricken days. I'd like to thank my friend Amanda for all her help with this costume. She came over and helped me get it together in time for the convention. ^^ And look how good it turned out. Sankyuu! ^^

_________Misc

I adore this costume. It's such a blast to wear and I adore all the detailing. ^^ It went over well too. Maybe people were impressed with how well it turned out.

One of these days I'll wear it for a photo shoot, until then, there are very few pictures of my in costume. Sorry!
