_________Information

I adore Kadsuki's character design. It's original and refreshing, and oh so cool. He (yes, he) was the second character I wanted to cosplay from Get Backers (the first being Himiko). I originally fell in love with his hairstyle.

By the time MAX 2003 rolled around, I was already making Kadsuki's outfit just because I could. His shirt makes no sense. This is the reason that many cosplayers make one of his shirts that actually make sense. But not me, I wanted to make the crazy gravity defying one.

Figuring out how to make the shirt was difficult. After I figured out why the sleeves couldn't exist in real life, it was a little easier since I got to improvise. ^^;

The shirt is made out of polar fleece. It gives it the volume it needs. Just above my bust, there's a band of fabric that's velcroed together. This is what holds up the entire costume since I refused to use straps. The fabric was folded carefully and sewed to the band to make it stand out and defy gravity. ^^

The inside of the shirt also has a bra built into it. The sleeves have elastics in them to help them stay up. The grey pants were thankfully store-bought.

The hair was fun. The wig was a $70 one I bought for Duo and didn't use. It was, however, perfect for Kadsuki. ^^ The two pieces of hair at the front and the long ponytail were made out of hair extensions and false suede. I hooked the hair extensions into my real hair and then put on the wig to give it the right effect.

The bells were bought at Wal-Mart and are perfect for Kadsuki. I used my friend Sakura's idea and made one of the bells attached by velcro. This way I can take a bell off and pose with it, and then easily reattach it to the hair extensions when I'm done. For his "string", I used dental floss since it stands out better--especially on film. ^^

_________Misc

This costume was so much fun to wear. I love the hair. ^^ Many people mistook it for my real hair. I found that amusing.

I was asked a few times if I was dressed up as a girl or guy. The outfit is really feminine, so when I said "guy" people freaked out. ^^;

I also got hit on a record number of times while wearing this costume. The most notable incident happened in the Montreal subway when two guys went so far as to sing to me to win my affections. ><; Now I know how Kadsuki feels.
